Cafe Philo - 01

Cafe Philo

For almost ten years now, we at Café Philo have been striving to find our way to a culture of conversation and shared exchange that does not apply theory to experience as a prefabricated tool, but rather seeks to gain it from the reflection of experience itself. That this, or at least much better, was possible in conversation was clear to Plato - and, for that matter, to great Renaissance philosophers - who gave the process of philosophical knowledge the shape of conversations between two or more participants in a conversation. Not on their level, but in their way, Café Philo reflects terms and concepts that we consider to be life-determining, from our own everyday and extra-ordinary experience.

The previous themes of Café Philo were:

WS 2020/21: Capitalism and Crisis
WS 2019/20: "Radiant will be the future..."
SS 2019: Hate
